What is the best website builder for artists?
It turns on one question: does money change hands on the site? If you sell prints directly, you need a builder with a checkout. If the site is a catalog whose design should carry the work, a canvas you lay out yourself is the shorter route.
Can I sell my art on a Siter.io website?
Not directly: there is no checkout. Link each piece to its listing at a print lab or marketplace, or take enquiries with a form and invoice by email, which is how most originals sell anyway.
Can I use my own fonts?
Yes. Upload font files in Settings > Fonts, or pick from the Google Fonts library in the editor. Check that each license covers web use.
Will the site work on phones?
As well as you lay it out. Desktop, Tablet and Mobile each get their own arrangement, so a series can hang in one column on a phone. Check every page on a real phone before you send the link.
Can I show video work?
Yes. YouTube embeds on every plan; videos and images dragged into the editor can be up to 10MB, on paid plans. For a film rather than a loop, host it on YouTube or Vimeo and embed it.
Can I take the site with me later?
Your domain stays at your own registrar, in your name. The pricing page lists transfer of a website to another account, which needs a paid plan, and on Pro you can download a page as a ZIP of its HTML, images, CSS and JavaScript.
