Every paid plan can put your site on a domain you own, and it costs nothing on top of the plan. From $7/mo billed yearly. The free plan builds and previews privately but does not publish at all, so a custom domain is not something it can carry.

No extra charge, no add-on

The domain connection, the hosting and the SSL certificate are all part of the plan. There is no separate hosting bill and no per-domain fee, which is the thing people expect and then have to go looking for.
You buy the domain, not us

Siter.io connects a name you already registered somewhere. If you have not bought one yet, any registrar will do, and roughly $10 to $20 a year is the going rate for a .com.

How to connect it.

Four steps, and the fourth one is mostly waiting.
1. Publish the site on your Siter.io subdomain first.
2. Add your domain in the app.
3. Add the DNS record at your registrar.
4. Wait for DNS, then load the domain.
The DNS part, in detail

At your registrar, find the DNS or nameserver settings for the domain. You are adding an A record, which is the record type that maps a name to a server address.

Host or name: @ for the bare domain. Type: A. Value: 5.161.34.112. TTL: whatever the default is.

If your registrar asks for anything beyond that — a separate record for the www version, or a different record type because your provider handles apex domains their own way — take those values from the domain screen in the Siter.io app rather than from this page. That screen is the authoritative source and this one is not.

Delete any existing A record pointing the same host somewhere else first. Two A records on the same name is the most common reason a domain loads the wrong site half the time.

Which plans include it.

The row that decides everything is the last one. A plan that cannot publish cannot carry a domain, whatever else it includes.

Four things worth knowing.

None of these is hidden. All four are the sort of thing you would rather read before the domain is live than after.

Buy the domain elsewhere
Siter.io connects a domain you already own rather than selling you one. That is the arrangement you want anyway. The registration stays in your name, in your account, and moving the site later costs you nothing.
Apex or www, pick one
Decide whether the real address is example.com or www.example.com and redirect the other to it. Running both as separate live addresses splits your search signals and looks careless in a link preview.
DNS is not instant
A record change can take minutes or the better part of a day to propagate, and your own machine will often cache the old answer longest. Check from a phone on mobile data before assuming something is broken.
Check HTTPS yourself
SSL is listed as included on every plan. What Siter.io does not document is whether a certificate is issued automatically for a custom domain, so load the https:// address once the domain resolves and confirm it before you send the link anywhere.

How do I connect a custom domain to my website?

Do I need to buy hosting separately?

No. Yes, included on every plan, so the plan covers the server, the certificate and the domain connection. The only thing you buy elsewhere is the domain registration itself.

How long does DNS propagation take?

Usually minutes, sometimes several hours, and occasionally the better part of a day. Your own computer caches DNS answers aggressively, so the site is often live for everyone else before it is live for you. Check on a phone with wi-fi turned off before troubleshooting anything.

Can I use a custom domain on the free plan?

No, and not because of the domain. No - the free plan builds and previews privately; publishing needs a paid plan, so there is nothing public to point a domain at. Publishing starts from $7/mo billed yearly, and the custom domain is included from there.

Is HTTPS included?

An SSL certificate is listed as included on every plan. What is not documented anywhere is whether one is issued automatically for a custom domain once you connect it, so we are not going to promise it. Load the https:// version of your domain after it resolves and confirm the padlock before you put the link on a business card.

What happens to my siter.io subdomain?

It stays. Publishing to the free subdomain is how you get the site live in the first place, and it remains a useful staging address while you wait for DNS to move. Pick one address as the real one and let the other redirect, rather than promoting both.

Can I move the domain away later?

Yes, because you own the registration. Point the A record somewhere else and the domain follows. Worth checking what you can take with you as well: html download on pro only; the contents of the export are not documented, so the domain moves cleanly but the site itself does not travel as source you can host anywhere.
