Do I need to buy web hosting separately?
No. Hosting and HTTPS come with every plan, the Free plan included, so there is no host to choose and no second invoice. The one thing you may still buy elsewhere is a domain name.
Is an SSL certificate included?
Yes, on every plan: HTTPS is automatic on name.getsiter.com and on a custom domain. On your own domain, a Let's Encrypt certificate is issued at no extra cost once the domain's DNS points to Siter.io, and renewed for you.
Can I host a website on the free plan?
Yes. The Free plan publishes 1 website at name.getsiter.com with up to 3 pages, and a custom domain needs a paid plan (see the plans). Free websites get 1 GB of visitor traffic a month; after that visitors see a temporarily unavailable page until the 1st of the next month, or until an upgrade brings the website back at once.
My site used to be at name.siter.io. Do old links still work?
Yes. Old name.siter.io links redirect permanently to the same page on name.getsiter.com, so links you shared before keep working.
Can I add my own scripts to the site?
Yes, within limits. Head code for the whole website and for each page, plus a Code element for embeds on the canvas. Analytics, chat widgets and verification tags that sit in the head fit; a tag that must sit at the end of the body may not.
Can I run a blog or a CMS on it?
No. There is no CMS, so each page is one you design and publish yourself.
