Add a countdown timer to your website

Count down to a sale, a launch or an event with a live timer that ticks on your page. Set the moment it ends, style it like the rest of your site, and publish, no code or plugin.

A published shop website made with Siter.io: a countdown to the end of the winter sale shows 2 days, 14 hours, 37 minutes and 9 seconds in four rounded boxes.

Urgency your visitors can trust.

  • One moment, everywhere

Set the end date, time and time zone once, and the countdown ends at the same moment for every visitor, wherever they are.

  • Only the units you need

Show any mix of days, hours, minutes and seconds. Hide days and the hours carry them, so two days and four hours reads 52.

  • Then decide what happens

When the time runs out, the countdown can stay at zero, show your own message, or leave the page.

    3 endings

    • Show 00
    • Show text
    • Hide

Every setting in one panel.

Select the countdown and its panel holds the whole thing: when it ends, what it shows, what it says, and what happens after.

  1. Counts down to

A date and time from the panel's own calendar and time pickers, and a time zone you can search.

  2. Show

A tile per unit with what is left. Click one to hide it; the first unit shown takes the time of the ones you hid.

  3. Labels

Rename days, hours, minutes and seconds to anything, in any language, and switch on Uppercase for small capitals.

  4. When it ends

Show 00, show a text of your own, or hide the countdown once the time is up.

And numbers that come alive.

Stats rows, results and "by the numbers" sections count up as visitors reach them, with one switch on the text.

  • Numbers that count up

Switch on Count up numbers for a text and its figures climb from 0 the first time the text scrolls into view.

  • Your formatting, kept

Thousands separators, decimals, leading zeros and the words around each number stay exactly as you typed them.

    5 formats kept

    • 1,250+
    • 12 500
    • 4.9
    • 07
    • 98%
  • Calm for those who want it

It plays once, in about a second and a half, and never for visitors who asked for less motion or on a site whose motion is set to None.

    3 rules it follows

    • Plays once
    • Eases out
    • Reduced motion respected

Ticking in three steps.

  1. Add a Countdown

Pick it from the toolbar and it lands on the page ready to run, set to a week from now at 18:00.

  2. Set the moment

Choose the date, the time and the time zone, then the units, the labels and what happens at the end.

  3. Style it and publish

Give the numbers your font, size and color and the boxes their color and corners, then publish. It ticks on the live page.

How do I add a countdown timer to my website?

Pick Countdown from the editor's toolbar and place it on the page. Choose the date, time and time zone it counts down to, then publish.

Does it end at the same time for every visitor?

Yes. The end is a fixed moment in the time zone you choose, so a visitor in New York and one in Berlin see it reach zero together, each with the time left from where they are.

What happens when the countdown reaches zero?

You choose: it stays at 00, it swaps to a text of your own such as "Doors are open!", or it disappears from the page.

Can it count only hours, or only seconds?

Yes. Show any mix of days, hours, minutes and seconds. The first unit you show takes the time of the hidden ones, so two days and four hours shows as 52 hours.

Can I change the labels or use another language?

Yes. Each label is a text box, so "days" can become "Tage", "hrs" or "Nights", and the Uppercase switch sets them in small capitals.

Which numbers can count up?

Any number in a text with Count up numbers on, such as "1,250+ customers", "4.9 rating" or "98%". It plays once when the text comes into view, and Siter AI turns it on for stats rows it builds.

Give the deadline
a clock.

Add a Countdown, set the moment it ends, and publish. It ticks on your live page the minute it goes up.
