Add custom code to your website, in the head or on the page

Paste a script into every page’s head, add code to a single page, or drop an embed onto the canvas. Publish, and your live page runs it exactly as you wrote it.

A published music school website made with Siter.io, with a booking widget for a trial lesson showing on the page, and beside it the three lines of embed code pasted into a Code element that put it there.

The snippet goes where it works.

  • Three places, three jobs

Every page's head, one page's head, or a spot on the canvas where an embed should show.

    3 places for your code

    • Head Code Injection
    • Custom Code <head>
    • Code element
  • Code for just one page

Each page has its own head code box in Page Settings, added after the website's code.

  • Embeds where they belong

Draw a Code element where the widget should appear and paste its code. It runs on the published page.

Paste it once for every page.

Head Code Injection puts verification tags, analytics scripts and site-wide styles into the head of the whole website.

  1. Custom Code

It sits in the website's Settings, beside Domains and Fonts.

  2. Head Code Injection

Paste a meta tag, a stylesheet link or a script once, for the whole website.

  3. Every page's head

Siter.io adds it to the head of every page exactly as written, without changing or checking it.

  4. Save Changes

Save, then open your live site and check that the code does its job.

Live in three steps.

  1. Copy the snippet

Take the code a service gives you, or write your own HTML, CSS or JavaScript.

  2. Paste it where it acts

Head Code Injection for every page, a page's own head code for one, a Code element for an embed.

  3. Publish and check

Publish the page, open it live, and confirm the code did what it should.

How do I add custom code to my website?

Pick the place by where the code has to act. For every page, paste it into Head Code Injection under the website’s Settings, then Custom Code; for one page, into that page’s head code box in Page Settings; for something visible, into a Code element on the canvas.

How do I add a script to the head of my website?

Paste it into Head Code Injection, under the website’s Settings and then Custom Code, and save. Siter.io adds it to the <head> of every page. For a script that only one page needs, use that page’s own box in Page Settings, which comes after the website’s code.

How do I embed HTML on a page?

With the Code element. Draw it where the embed should appear, size it, and paste the HTML, with any <script> or <iframe> it brings. In the editor it shows a note in its place; on the published page the code runs.

Can I add custom CSS?

Yes, as a <style> block or a <link> to a stylesheet in head code, for the whole website or one page. Style your own embed markup with it rather than the class names Siter.io writes, which can change when you edit the design.

Does custom code work on the free plan?

Yes. Head code and the Code element are on every plan, and the Free plan publishes 1 website at name.getsiter.com, so your code runs there once you publish.

Does Siter.io check the code I paste?

No. It is added exactly as written, so a typo or a script error goes live with the page. Add one snippet at a time and check the live page after each.

Design the page, then add
the line of code it needs.

Paste the snippet where it belongs, publish, and the live page runs it.
