Add a live poll to your website

Describe a poll and Siter AI builds it. Each visitor votes once, then sees the live totals as bars with percentages.

A cafe website poll as a visitor sees it: "What should we add to the menu next?" with four answers and a Vote button, and next to it the same poll after voting, with Vegan brunch at 38 percent, Cold brew on tap at 27, Late-night pastries at 21 and Weekend pizza at 14.

A poll that lives on your page.

  • Takes your colors and fonts

The poll is part of the page, so it wears your brand colors, text color, background and corner radius.

  • Totals every visitor shares

Each visitor votes once, then sees the live totals as bars with percentages.

2 the two states a visitor sees

    • Vote
    • Live totals
  • Change it by asking

Describe the change and Siter AI makes a new version. An earlier one is a click away.

Describe it, then build it.

Place an App, say what to ask, and Siter AI writes the poll, tests it and shows it on your canvas.

  1. What should the app do?

Say it in a sentence, with the question, the answers, and what a visitor sees after voting.

  2. Or start from one of these

Pick Poll with live totals and Siter AI starts from one question with 3 or 4 answers.

  3. Build

Siter AI writes the poll and tests it, fixing an error if it finds one, while you watch the progress.

  4. Try it on the canvas

The poll runs in its own sandbox, apart from your website. Double-click it to try your own question.

What to know before you publish.

  • A visitor votes once

A visitor is counted once per group, by connection (IP). The poll keeps nothing in the visitor's browser.

  • Then they see the totals

The poll can ask whether this visitor already voted, so someone who did sees only the totals.

  • Totals are shared by everyone

The app keeps the numbers on Siter's side, so every visitor sees the same live totals.

  • Shared totals need a Pro website

On a published website, the totals visitors share work on Pro websites. Your own test votes in the editor work on any plan, and a Free website builds and previews apps in the editor only.

From idea to live in three steps.

  1. Place an App

Pick App in the left toolbar and put it on the page where the poll belongs.

  2. Describe your poll

Write the question and the answers, or start from Poll with live totals, and press Build.

  3. Publish and vote

Publish the page, cast a vote yourself, and watch the totals show up for the next visitor.

How do I add a poll to my website?

Place an App from the editor's left toolbar and describe the poll, or start from Poll with live totals. Siter AI writes it and tests it, and you publish the page like any other. It is not an embed or a code snippet.

Do visitors see the results?

Yes. After a visitor votes, the poll shows the live totals as bars with percentages. You can ask for a different look when you describe it.

Can the same person vote twice?

A visitor is counted once per group, by connection (IP). The poll keeps nothing in the visitor's browser, so it cannot promise that someone on another network will not vote again.

Can I change the question or the answers later?

Yes. Choose Change the app…, describe the change, and Siter AI makes a new version. The one on the page is tagged Shown, and Restore brings an earlier version back.

Is a poll safe to put on my website?

It runs in its own sandbox, apart from your website, with no access to your cookies or account. Every app has a Report link, and each version is checked against Siter's rules.

Which plan do I need for a poll?

You can build and preview a poll on any plan, including Free, but an app shows on a published website only on paid plans, so a poll on a Free website does not show to visitors. On Solo and Plus it can be published, but the totals shared between visitors need a Pro website; your own test votes work on any plan. See the plans.

Ask your visitors
what they want.

Describe the poll, place it on a page like any other element, and watch the totals move.
